Directed large-scale CMS an EDS site migrations across partner institutions, ensuring consistency across navigation, templates, imagery, accessibility, and mobile experience. Manage an internal design team, as well as contractors, vendors, and freelance designers responsible for all aspects of design direction and brand development; direct and review all creative and digital assets. Mentor, support, and challenge team members to deliver incredible work that is onbrand and aligned with strategic goals. Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to create strong visual designs that align with the brand aesthetic of 22+ academic partners and 50+ education programs. Principal and owner of a boutique strategic design studio focused on branding, identity, web, marketing, and print collateral for small businesses. Provided start to finish service from concept/brand development to production and print management.
Carol McLeod Design (2007 – 2011)
Directed concept-to-completion design development for 500+ brand identity and strategic marketing projects (print collateral, advertising, logos, exhibit, packaging, websites, etc.) for Pharmaceutical and Healthcare clients, ensuring all projects support client brand strategy and marketing objectives.
Sun Life Financial (2004 – 2007)
Directed design, layout, and production of a high volume of print and electronic marketing materials and branded campaigns for a financial services company, ensuring optimum design quality while adhering to strict time and budget constraints. Liaised with editorial staff and external business partners to craft new product promotions and collateral concepts, presenting concepts to internal/external stakeholders.
Aviva (1999 – 2003)
Overseeing the creative department, directed design concept development for all marketing materials for four business lines representing a combined $140 Million+ in annual revenue. Managed $1,000- to $20,000-project budgets, negotiated production schedules, and implemented processes to streamline workflow and improve productivity while maintaining the highest standards for quality and cost-efficiency.
Next Generation (1996 – 1999)
Directed a 3-member production team in the concept-to-completion creation of 160+ recruitment campaigns, cold cards, brochures, direct mail, posters, and associated collateral for 40+ existing clients. Collaborated with editorial and senior design staff, prepared and participated in client presentations, and played a vital role in landing 80% of accounts pitched, worth thousands of dollars in new business revenue.
